📚【A Study on the Effectiveness of Reciting the Buddha's Name】 卍 May reciting the Buddha's name bring you good fortune! 🙏 Namo Amitabha Buddha! 🙏 Hsieh Yu-hsin (Shi Jueyin) (2021) explored the "Research on Reciting the Buddha's Name and Mind-Body-Spirit Healing," finding that "choosing 'Dharma Healing - Reciting the Buddha's Name' helps in the healing of mind and body... By following this path, one can grasp the light of good thoughts, create a positive life, and let life smile freely." 【📢Editor's Note: The editor believes that these principles are already known to most virtuous people and have practiced them very well. The editor is just offering a simple reminder. Reciting the Buddha's name should become more relaxed and at ease, not more tense!】 The Heart Sutra says, "The mind is without hindrance. Because there is no hindrance, there is no fear, and one is far removed from distorted views and dreams, ultimately attaining Nirvana." It also says, "Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness. Emptiness is not different from form. Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. The research includes the following two papers: 1. Shen Meiling (2015) studied "The Relationship between Reciting Buddhist Sutras and Mantras on Heart Rate Variability and Meridian Energy," finding that "reciting the Medicine Buddha Sutra and mantras as a method of spiritual practice and health cultivation is helpful in improving or maintaining one's own autonomic nervous system function and has an impact on meridian energy. If one can develop a long-term habit of reciting sutras, it is more likely to enhance overall meridian energy and further achieve the goal of promoting physical and mental health." 2. Gong Shuying (2009) studied the "Efficacy of Buddhist Medicine Buddha Sutra Recitation on Menopausal Symptoms and Autonomic Nervous System Effects in Women," finding that "Buddhist Medicine Buddha Sutra recitation can improve menopausal symptoms in women and effectively increase parasympathetic nerve activity while decreasing sympathetic nerve activity. Therefore, Buddhist Medicine Buddha Sutra recitation can serve as an important reference as an alternative adjunctive therapy for improving menopausal symptoms in women." Therefore, the two studies mentioned above confirm the effectiveness of Buddhist mantras in current scientific research; however, the number of studies is still limited, and the field is still under development. Many unknown areas remain to be explored. Those interested can refer to the literature for further understanding or conduct experiments and research to enrich the scientific research on Buddhist mantras, find more evidence of their effectiveness, and broaden the scientific research perspective on Buddhist mantras.
