香港Applause Pictures於2000年香港導演陳可辛成立，著力香港電影與全亞洲跨國製作，觸角遍及日本、韓國、泰國、新加坡等地，集結亞洲優秀人才，完成多部藝術商業兼具代表電影如：《見鬼》、《金雞》、《三更》等系列，並成功行銷全世界。 鑒於台灣電影市場票房名列世界前矛重要指標，陳可辛導演為整合電影製作與行銷發行， 2004年於台灣成立：『香港商甲上娛樂有限公司台灣分公司Applause Entertainment』，以院線電影發行為主要營運項目，發行電影類型多元，包含Applause Pictures母公司拍攝製作電影如《投名狀》、《十月圍城》、《武俠》、《海闊天空》、《親愛的》；同時也引進好萊塢及歐美、日、韓等優質電影，兼具優質口碑與商業票房，歷年發行代表作品如：《3D舞力對決》系列、系列、《以愛之名：翁山蘇姬》、《賈伯斯》、《模仿遊戲》、《救救菜英文》、《新世紀福爾摩斯:地獄新娘》、《妖怪手錶》等。 2014年甲上娛樂啟動台灣電影發行計畫，與台灣電影深入合作，發行多部國片，屢創票房佳績與好評，如劇場大師李國修之子李思源導演《極光之愛》，全台累積2500萬票房；2015年張艾嘉導演《念念》口碑好評；日本恐怖大師一瀨隆重監製《屍憶》，全台票房2300萬，成為2015年暑假恐怖類型最賣座電影；而由林依晨、陳柏霖、周渝民主演《追婚日記》，更創下全台票房逼近破億票房超亮眼成績。 甲上娛樂發行電影兼具商業與優質正能量，行銷團隊擅長議題操作與話題行銷，每每以創意顛覆市場限制與考驗，希望未來可帶給台灣觀眾更多優質好電影。
