Welcome to FTC, a channel devoted to preserving life on the 18th century American Frontier. FTC started as a program area in a scout camp. For years, around 2,500 scouts ages 10-18 took merit badge courses like Wilderness Survival, American Heritage, and Indian Lore in a wooded area amidst cabins, wigwams, livestock, and a forge each summer. It was a hands-on learning environment that attracted special attention because of the period clothing and activities. I started this YouTube channel after working in Frontier Trading Company for four years. All told, I have spent nearly a year of my life in period attire, teaching and living out an 18th-century lifestyle. Unfortunately, the program area no longer operates at camp, but I started this channel to keep the program alive the best I can, and to benefit the YouTube community by teaching and demonstrating my passion for these character-building skillsets.
