As the foundation of the Kenya Prisons Service, Prisons Staff Training College is the only college for all prison officers with the mandate to provide categories of trainings including an initial course for the newly recruited constables and Cadets, development course for the newly promoted Inspectors and N.C.Os, Drill and duties basic course for instructors and potential instructors, refresher course and in-house seminars to members of Staff among other courses. The college aims to train prisons staff by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to increase efficiency and effectiveness amongst its officers to realize the globally accepted best practices with emphasis on handling of women and vulnerable groups in prisons, violent extremist offenders, Dynamic security and the standard minimum Rules.(MANDELA RULES.) VISION: To be a premier college in rehabilitation and correctional management in Kenya and Beyond. MOTTO: ''Training for Rehabilitation and Justice''
