Gliiico is a band of three brothers, Kio, Kai, and Nico de Torres, based in Tokyo, Japan. Formed out of quarantine boredom, the boys started in 2021, drawing from an eclectic blend of sonic influences, from the Strokes to Kanye West and Justice to Tatsuro Yamashita. A childhood favorite playlist has informed the genre-bending music Gliiico has presented thus far. Although only a few years old, Gliiico has supported international acts such as lo-fi gods Khruangbin and Grammy Award-winning French band Phoenix on their Japan tours, demonstrating the strength of their demos. Their debut EP, "The Oath," is now out. Gliiico is a band consisting of three brothers, Kio, Kai, and Nico de Torres. Formed in 2021, they are based in Tokyo. Various musical elements, including The Strokes, Kanye West, Justice, and Tatsuro Yamashita, as well as fond childhood memories, have had a major influence on the original, genre-defying music that Gliiico has released to date. Although they have yet to release an EP in their third year since forming, they have already been selected as opening acts for Grammy Award-winning French band Phoenix (2023) and American lo-fi band Khruangbin (2022) on their Japan tours. They plan to release their debut EP, "The Oath," this year.
