Vancouver-based blues guitarist James 'Buddy' Rogers learned to love the blues close to home. His dad, Bud, who worked for the railroad, brought home records and a guitar, and by age 10, Buddy was lifting licks. By 11, his band was gigging, and within two years, he was a regular at local blues clubs. At 15, his band Texas Storm was being booked by Canada’s top agency for opening concert slots. In 1995, at 19, he teamed up with former BB King bassist Russell Jackson, touring for five years. I've been studying bugs and butterflies for as long as I can remember. As a PhD (doctor of philosophy) in Zoology and a professor, I would like to bring you closer to the fascinating world of insects. But instead of doing it in a dry, academic way, I will be revealing to you in a non-conventional way what I have learned directly from these bugs in last 30 years. I will show you the truth beyond the textbooks. I will let you into the secrets of my private bug collection. All specimens and photographs that will be featured in the video presentations on this channel are from my private collection.
