My name is Mark Reuten and I build custom wooden boats. I have been building, repairing wooden boats and teaching wooden boatbuilding since 1993. I have built over 125 new boats and have worked on everything from scale models to tall ships. My work is on display at the Vancouver international airport, the Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site, and I was featured in the BC Pavilion at the 2010 Olympics. I have also been featured in a National Film Board documentary about efforts to revive traditional kayak building in the arctic: Caribou Kayak by Michael Mitchell, 2004. I discovered my passion for woodworking at age 10, and it has only grown stronger. Over the years, I've honed my skills in building and restoring various items, from furniture to houses. Recently, I built my own workshop, a space that fuels my creativity. My tool collection has expanded over time, as I have eagerly sought out new additions while exchanging and upgrading existing ones. I own a mobile sawmill, which allows me to produce high-quality wood for my projects and supply a select group of loyal customers. I'm Nigel Saunders and this channel is all about creating living miniature trees. Most of the work I do is "clip and grow" in a "realistic" style.
