Brannbamsen Bjørnis gir barn omsorg og trygghet ved brann og andre ulykker, og har gode råd om brannvern til alle! Brannbamsen Bjørnis er tidenes største satsing på brannforebyggende kommunikasjon med barn som hovedmålgruppe. Arbeidet bygger på tanken om at brannvernopplæring for barn er en av grunnpilarene i brannforebyggende arbeid, både fordi barna tilegner seg grunnleggende kunnskaper og holdninger de har med resten av livet, og fordi barna er gode brannvernambassadører overfor foreldre og besteforeldre. Arbeidet har tre hovedstrategier: For det første skal Bjørnis brukes som verktøy når brannvesenet møter barn i forbindelse med brann og andre ulykker, den såkalte trøstebamsen. For det andre skal vi etablere og videreutvikle et nytt nasjonalt forebyggende undervisningsopplegg for alle barnehager her til lands. For det tredje skal vi bygge videre på Brannbamsen Bjørnis som brannvesenets positive promotør, forebygger og barnas store helt.
