Hi, it's Robin. I'm a programmer, collector, and all-round enthusiast of vintage computers and video games. My videos focus on what I find interesting in the realm of 8-bit (and sometimes 4 or 16-bit) computing and gaming, whether it's about easter eggs, programming, bugs, history, game development, or whatever else. I usually go very in-depth with topics because I want to understand the how and why. There's still so much to learn and explore in these old systems. Please note: you're of course welcome to email me, but the longer and less focused your email is, the less likely I am to respond. There's many of you, but just one of me, so requests to debug your code, or teach you assembly, or to phone you because "you just have some questions" all take a lot of time and energy that should be put into making more videos, and will probably not be answered. Sorry!

Greetings my Excellent friends! And welcome to my channel. I'm an old skool RC addict building, running, modifying, and painting RC cars, trucks, and buggies. I'm a total Tamiya and Kyosho fan, given that I grew up in the 80's and 90's, during the glory days of RC! And I'm here to share my RC passion with you wonderful human beings! I chose the name "Poor Boys RC" as a bit of an homage to the good ol' days, when I was a poor boy, and many of us couldn't afford these amazing kits that we saw in magazines, in stores, and on TV. Well patience is a virtue, and now in my 40's I'm able to enjoy these kits, create fun content for other like-minded RC enthusiasts and try and recreate the experience of RC back in the 80's and 90's. Stick around, soak up some nostalgia and enjoy the ride. And as always... Be Excellent to Each Other. All work is copyrighted and is the property of Dadic Media. The Never-Ending Sea Trial is a hands-on boat project channel documenting the real-world modernization of Tangaroa, a 1969 aluminum motor yacht, into a Hybrid-Electric Exploration Yacht. We focus on practical yacht engineering and long-term upgrades — engines, propulsion, electrical systems, batteries, solar, steering, cooling, fabrication, and problem-solving aboard an older boat. This isn’t theory or quick makeovers. It’s real work, done onboard, with real consequences. Most of the projects are tackled by us, without a production crew, and shown honestly — including the mistakes and lessons learned along the way. Tangaroa is our home, our test platform, and our ongoing sea trial. If you’re into diesel engines, marine electrical systems, repowers, modern tech in classic boats, and seeing how things actually get done, you’re in the right place. Welcome onboard.
