Welcome to my YouTube Channel! I am a former university professor of theatre technology and design, now retired after 34 years of teaching. I was at Mount Royal University in Calgary for 25 years, 11 of which I Chaired the Department of Theatre, Speech and Music Performance. After retiring in 2014, I sold guitars at Long & McQuade Musical Instruments for two and a half years mostly because I love the guitar so much. Now that I'm retired I spend time playing my guitars, collecting fountain pens and creating YouTube videos! My name is Mark Reuten and I build custom wooden boats. I have been building, repairing wooden boats and teaching wooden boatbuilding since 1993. I have built over 125 new boats and have worked on everything from scale models to tall ships. My work is on display at the Vancouver international airport, the Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site, and I was featured in the BC Pavilion at the 2010 Olympics.
