CDM KIRATU是一位音乐传奇人物。他于1951年出生于肯尼亚基安布郡利穆鲁，父母是农民Njeri和Kiratu。他曾做过街头流浪汉/停车场管理员，在少年管教所（一所认可的学校）和高中时期，他展现出了非凡的音乐天赋。1972年，还在读六年级时，他创作并录制了自己的第一首作品《MUGATHE KENYATTA》。与其他当代当地艺术家略有不同，CDM用他的母语吉库尤语、英语和斯瓦希里语创作音乐。他是一位多才多艺的人，曾担任肯尼亚音乐版权协会（MCSK）理事（2007-2014）和音乐作曲家协会（MCA）主席，并在MCA创立了年度歌手奖（SOYA）项目。这是在他从肯尼亚税务局退休之后的事，他曾担任反假冒/反盗版部门负责人，直至2007年。 CDM在音乐圈里被亲切地称为MZEE WA KAZI，至今仍在演唱他的经典歌曲NGOGOYO。音乐爱好者万岁！！！
