We love country life and raising our own food. If I can make it for our family and Michael can build it for our family, then we have succeeded. We have a small piece of land, but there is a lot of living that happens here at Pennington Place. Just to wake up every morning to hear our chickens and ducks talking, our turkeys gobbling and to watch the warm twitch of our bunnies noses, these are the real pleasures in life. Everyday we challenge ourselves to be more self sufficient and to grow wiser with every mistake. We like the simple life, but in that reality everything is harder to achieve. But at the end of the day when we sit around the dinner table, to know it was our hands that grew and tended the vegetables we eat, it was our love and care that grew the meat we eat, there is truly no words to describe the pride in knowing 'we' did this. Remember to make everyday beautiful.
