I am an independent artist and music producer. My covers and originals are either in Hindi or Tamil (some are bilingual). Having spent most of my time in the North of India, I am more fluent with Hindi and Urdu and find it easier to sing and compose in these languages. Tamil is my mother tongue but I never had the opportunity to read and write Tamil. I rely on my friend Lavanya (Lav) for diction and lyrics when it comes to composing or singing in Tamil. I finger pick, play chords and the leads on the guitar and this forms majority of my accompanying music. My inspirations are from classical rock and roll music (Dire Straits, Eagles, Led Z), old Hindi classics composed by SD Burman and more contemporary Indian music composed by AR Rahman. Most of my music is just to be enjoyed just as music, but there will be some songs which I hope are deeper, soulful and thought provoking.
