Tea is both art and craft. It is the most ancient of plant-based medicines, simultaneously energizing the body as it soothes the mind. The tea industry is fascinating, intricate, and far more complex than a single person can master. That is why Tea Biz enlists 40 voices skilled in 12 languages to tell stories and report relevant news. Transparency is storytelling grounded at origin. Authentic reporting relies on tea experts and trained journalists who know the tea lands from birth and speak the native tongue. Intimately local in character, the tea trade enjoys global influence. Tea is consumed in massive volume, far greater than coffee, resulting in a business that employs millions worldwide. Each week the Tea Biz Podcast and blog summarize the news of greatest impact on the global tea community presenting far more nuanced coverage than production volumes and commodity prices. Like Show Biz, Tea Biz is a reflection of social customs and culture. Dan Bolton, founder and host

My name is Mark Reuten and I build custom wooden boats. I have been building, repairing wooden boats and teaching wooden boatbuilding since 1993. I have built over 125 new boats and have worked on everything from scale models to tall ships. My work is on display at the Vancouver international airport, the Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site, and I was featured in the BC Pavilion at the 2010 Olympics. I have also been featured in a National Film Board documentary about efforts to revive traditional kayak building in the arctic: Caribou Kayak by Michael Mitchell, 2004. I want to share my knowledge and create a good online resource for detailed wooden boatbuilding education. You can help me out with that by becoming one of my supporters on Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/nomadboatbuilding You can find my portfolio, information about courses and contact details on my website: https://www.nomadboatbuilding.com
If you see a boat as more than just wood and varnish—if you believe every vessel holds stories worth preserving—you’re in the right place. Travels with Geordie is about more than restoring classic wooden motor cruisers; it’s about reviving history, embracing adventure, and building a community that shares a passion for craftsmanship and the sea. This journey started in 2013 as Peter’s travel vlog with his late goldendoodle, Geordie, and has grown into a shared mission to honor the art of wooden boat restoration. Every plank, every nail, and every journey is made possible through viewer support. Join us, and be part of something truly special. Together, we’ll keep these stories afloat.
